I say SitePoint should auction off some Mentors as part of a date auction on eBay ("Maybe YOU could have a night with stymiee") and take the profits and get some beefy servers with it. Okay, bad example, as stymiee would probably generate half a meg of memory, but myself alone would allow for a cluster of twenty dual Xenons.

What is it with you today lo0ol?

I'm getting the same error. At least a dozen times in the past 30-45 minutes.

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

It's especially depressing when you have a solid post written and when you submit it you get the error. (But then I hit back, saw I lost my entire post, refreshed the page and there it was again. WTF? Definately a strange experience.)

Just remember that's an extra half meg of memory.

Oh, and I haven't had any issues today so it must be user error.

I get these errors every now and again but today they have been rather frequent!

Also, from time to time (not at all today strangely), SitePoint will really slow down and take well over a minute to load (on a 4MB cable connection).

I got it a couple times today.
    Not as bad as yesterday.

And PHP supports PostgreSQL and with vBs abstraction layer there shouldn't be any problems switching. It's much more solid than MySQL.
MySQL really isn't designed for the loads that PGSql is.

I just had the problem on the last thread that I was posting, but luckily Opera does a pretty good job of getting track of what I had in forms, so I didn't lose anything.

Again I hope that SitePoint can find a solution to this.
