Question wrap=virtual not working in Firefox 1.04

Does anyone else have issues with this? I'm pretty sure virtual wrapping worked with previous releases of Firefox but for some reason this version doesn't seem to have any of it.

Virtually wrapping text in a textarea is very useful when doing "contact us" type of forms. It prevents horizontal scrolling which I personally find annoying.

I have "cols" defined. I am not in quirks mode.

    It works fine in IE.

    Cheers

There is no 'wrap' attribute in HTML or XHTML.

Proprietary extensions are used at your own risk.

Well it might not be a standard but it's been used for quite a while now and used to work across multiple browsers.

Now I've tried using CSS (overflow: scroll or overflow: auto) but neither gave me the desired effect, ie no horizontal scrolling in the textarea.

If you type a normal message in the textarea, i.e. with spaces between the words, then you won't get a horizontal scroll. WRAP=virtual doesn't seem to change a thing with regards to scrolling in Firefox, nor IE or Opera.
