    IE not showing descendent selector

    I've got an area throughout a site which has an image which changes wherever you are using the descendent selector, it works fine in Firefox, but as soon as you view it in IE it doesn't display any images anywhere, just leaves it blank. Can anyone help? The site in development is at http://www.deswork.com/staging/chaucer/default.asp and if you click on the 'Croutons and Toppings ' and then the 'Salad Croutons' and 'Soup Croutons' you'll notice no images appear.

    code:

    .mid {
    width: 151px;
    height: 414px;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    position: absolute;}
    #default #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midDefault.jpg)}
    #croutonsAndToppings #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midCroutonsAndToppings.jpg)}
    #soupCroutons #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midSoupCroutons.jpg)}
    #saladCroutons #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midSaladCroutons.jpg)}
    #freezeDriedIngredients #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midFreezeDriedIngredients.jpg)}
    #mushroomExtract #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midMushroomExtract.jpg)}
    #siteMap #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midSiteMap.jpg)}
    #links #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midLinks.jpg)}
    #contact #midGra {background-image: url(../images/midContact.jpg)}

    Hi,

    Have you fixed it because the images seem to appear the same as in Firefox?

    (BTW you have a lot of errors in the page about 86 according to the validator)

    I'm a novice as you can tell. Which validator are you using so I can fix these errors?

    It could be my version of IE, I'm on 5.2 Mac version.

    I've tried it on another mac and it's still not showing the middle images.

    I've run my index page through the validator and I'm only getting 37 errors, still 37 too many though.

    Thanks for your help.

    HI,

    I think if you fix your errors your images may start to show up because you have the body stated twice in your code both with different id's! So its no surprise the browser doesn't know which is correct

    I've copied the code locally and it works on my mac when I fix the errors.

    I think it's because I've used an include for the nav which has a duplicated id. Thanks again.

    Update: Sorted it thanks.
