    Unhappy 5 hours of searching...

    the great www and I still cannot find an answer or confirmation to the Mac IE 5.2 Comment Hack not working in some cases. Can someone with a copy of Mac IE5.2 test this on their system.

    So far I have noticed failures on hiding overflow: and border:
    • I have flushed the Mac browser cache.
    • The code renders correctly with Safari and Mozilla, and Win Firefox, IE6, IE5

    The test code and attached file is here.

    Thanks!

    This might be not as helpful as you wish and I'm sure after 5hours of searching you came across them anyway. But here are two links which helped me to solve a Mac IE 5.2 issue:

    http://www.macedition.com/cb/ie5macbugs/
    http://www.l-c-n.com/IE5tests/

    Other than that. I can only suggest you: forget about Mac IE 5.2 if you don't have to specifically design for it. But I guess you have to

    I've answered in your other thread.

    mac will hide anything in the mac hack comments but it won't hide stuff that is in your normal styles.

    The dashed border comes from here:
    Code:
    #testBox {
    	position: relative;
    	margin: auto;
    	width: 718px;
    	height: 10px;
    	background-color: #ccc;
    	border: 1px dashed #333;
    	}

    Damn...I'm so tired and frustrated (and embarrassed). I guess I am confused about how the damn hack works. I just tried changing the above code to solid so it matched the above one, and it still doesn't make the border NOT appear in the Mac browser.

    the only way it will not appear is if you not put the style in there in the first place
