Anyone used Microsoft Index Server?

I was wondering whether anyone knew how to use Microsoft Index Server. My school is redesigning its site and we need to implement a search feature. We chose Index Server because it builds up a database of pages automatically rather than us manually having to update a central database or have meta tags.But the thing is that we dont really know how to use it.

I was wondering whether anyone knew a good web sites about it or know how to use it.
