    Getting flash to play behind menu

    I'm not sure if this is a problem with the way I've got my flash movie set up or my style sheet, but I'm trying to get my menu to appear over my movie instead of behind it. I did some research and did try using wmode="transparent" and wmode="opaque", but still have a problem. http://wwwdev.lemoyne.edu/academics/new_index.htm

    Here's the part of the style sheet that controls the display, in case I'm doing something wrong with the z-index.

    .leftnav
    {
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 100;
    left: 5px;
    top: 50px;
    padding: 2px;
    width: 250px;
    height: 300px;
    }
    .leftimage
    {
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 1;
    left: 10px;
    top: 250px;
    padding: 2px;
    width: 200px;
    height: 250px;
    }

    The whole style sheet is at http://wwwdev.lemoyne.edu/css/academic_home.css

    Here's how I'm calling the movie:

    <div class="leftimage">
    <OBJECT classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
    WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="300" id="slideshow" ALIGN="">
    <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="slideshow.swf"><param name="wmode" value="opaque">
    <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#AA7711> <EMBED src="slideshow.swf" quality=high wmode="opaque" WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="300" NAME="slideshow" ALIGN=""
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    </div>

    Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Michelle

    HI,

    Have you tried setting tghe nav z-index to a higher number

    e.g.
    Code:
    ul {
     margin: 0px;
     padding: 5px;
     list-style: none;
     width: 120px;
     position:relative;/* needed to set z-index*/
     z-index:999;
    }

    ul li {
     position: relative;
     }

    li ul {
     position: absolute;
     left: 121px;
     top: 0;
     display: none;
     z-index:999;
    }
