    Can't get listed on Google.com

Nearly three weeks ago I submitted a site (www.energyefficientheatandair.com) to google.com, and I resubmitted it a week ago. It's STILL not indexed. Yahoo hasn't found it either.

    Any suggestions?

Re-submitting your site multiple times can actually hurt your chances of getting listed quickly. A much better way of getting listed is to spend some time building incoming links - doing so can easily get you listed within a few days.

Three weeks is nothing. Especially with no incoming links (if that is the case). I don't really think the submission tool is effective at all for garnering a spot in the index. Even with a few incoming links it could take a month or more. Speed isn't Google's primary concern.

All I see are cockamamie theories as to how Google works or doesn't work. Fact is that it doesn't work very well at all.

If submitting your site multiple times prevented you from getting listed in Google, then I could sit here all day long and submit sites of people like you and you would be screwed. Would any decent search engine allow for that sort of thing?

If having a bunch of meaningless webpages with links to your website hurt your chances of getting a decent ranking in Google, I could create a geocities webpage loaded with keywords and links to you and you would be harmed. Again, would such a thing be a good way to run a search engine?

Build incoming links--but don't build too many incoming links. Use relevant keywords--but don't use too many! This is really an asinine endeavor. The fact is that the people who run Google probably have no idea how it works.

Focus on Yahoo and MSN. Encourage visitors to your website to ditch Google for search engines that actually return relevant results without purposely suppressing them for arbitrary reasons.

    Do you Yahoo?

your site isn't listed in the "G" index and does not show any backlinks. Your site title also needs to be changed. Check out some of our Web Design Articles about Meta tag building and then try submitting again. Hope this helps

Instead of submitting to Google, do something that will actually help your ranking like submitting your site to a directory.

Try getting some incoming links, for that you can submit to other directories, you can use forum signature as link to your site.

Remeber, google always feel smart when they find the site on their own. Most of my domains/site, have been picked up like that only. I rarely submit to google.

Actually not true. If it was all you would need to do to sabotage a competitor is keep submitting their site.

If you want to be indexed very fast - get a link from frequently indexed site.

Hmmm. I've noticed a number of times that I've seen posts from SitePoint indexed in Google that were only a few days old.

Google crawls some sites more than once a month? If so, I suspected it, but did not know it.

Yes, it's true. Google crawls pages with higher PR more often than other.
