Lightbulb Selling Your Own Ad Space & Managing Customer Ad Creative Quality

What do you do when an advertiser who buys ad space on your site has an ad creative design that you do not like, or you feel is not up to par with aesthetic level of the rest of your site?

On a few sites we run we get approached by advertisers (not the larger companies but the medium sized businesses typically) who want to buy ad space and thatís great and they pay but a recurring issue is making sure the ad creative is up to par with the look of the site its to be placed on. Surely the better-looking ad creatives are more appealing to users and potential advertisers. I just want to see what you guys do, or how you handle these situations.

I usually flat out reject the ad as nicely as I can saying that the ad looks quite poorly designed and is not in the best interests of your campaign and then give them a few links to some good creative design firms where they can have new creatives designed for fairly cheap like bannersmall.
