Yup, but an appointment that is waning in popularity. These days way too many people with any sort of a website call themselves "web master".

Nothing against you, you understand. I'm talking about people with a website hosted on AngelFire of their cat.

Well, I webmaster 15 sites... Does that count

Only kidding, I have no complex about being a webmaster as I'm also a senior (multimedia) designer and lead developer.

What _is_ a webmaster? When I think webmaster I think geocities with awefull backgrounds and pink blinking text.

I have never met someone who does web development professionally call themselves a 'webmaster'. But that's just me.

Maybe someone can clarify what a webmaster is for me...

It used to be the all-in-one guy who is primarily the server administrator but is involved with most/all aspects of creating and maintaining a website.

I am in charge of the implementation and updating of websites. Any odds and sods that need done I do, though since I'm also a senoir designer and lead developer I can do more my position as webmaster is mainly "updating", keeping current and removing old content.
