    Promotion through Sales Incentive

I have a site that I would like to "partner" with someone on. The deal would be that they would required to sell online listings and as a result receive 50% of the $65 sale. Is this common among website owners? and if so, how do you suggest I go about finding this type of person

This doesn't seem as an incentive at all. What you might want to look into is offering them a buyers allowance of some sort, and they just purchase the products from you pretty much as a reseller. In my reading and experience I've always found reseller incentives usually aren't effective, and this excludes earning a commission (which is the actual reselling).

I have a similar option for people that want to sell listings on www.menuserve.com

listing costs a restaurant $229 and the person making the sale gets $100 of that.

all they have to do is collect the restaurants menu and payment and send them to me. i have the restaurant listed and then send a commission back to the sales person.

it works out great... and i have a ton of people making some cash

Sounds like a run of the mill affiliate program to me.

Nothing new or groundbreaking there, been around forever, will be around forever and they work.
