I dont understand why your web host would matter in terms of SEO.

Uh...no. Windows or Apache, 1GB or 100GB, it doesn't matter. As long as the spider can actively retrieve your pages, you should be fine.

I'm not saying that there aren't issues with related sites on the same IP block, but that's whole different topic.

I've never heard of your web host having any relation to your SEO. The only way they could affect is it by restricting access to bots, but most don't do this as it really won't win over customers.

Web hosting has a lot to do with SEO as far as location goes. If you host a site in the US with a .com domain, it will not show in google uk results at all.

Thats funny, I went to www.google.co.uk and searched for several of my .com websites hosted on my .com servers by my US hosting company and they came up?

I believe by default you get the usual Google listings (web is selected) and you need to select pages in the UK to get UK results.

All of the Google sites search the same index, but Google.co.uk gives UK websites higher priority in their search results. A web search will return the same results on any Google domain; it's just the order in which they are displayed that will be different.

Web hosting is important in terms of SEO as your host's reputation might have an influence on how your website performs in Google

The only thing I've heard on this topic that makes halfway sense is that if you host your site on an overloaded server, Googlebot might give up trying to deep crawl the site, just causing less pages to be indexed. Obviously, that would only hurt if you had a huge site.

I can't say that even close to being true. A host's reputation affecting a page's rank? How do the two relate in any way?

If you search in google.co.uk you get .co.uk results and .com (or other) which are hosted by UK hosts.

If the shared hosting is worrying you, then you might want to ask your host (current or new) for a dedicated ip.
