    Off the Shelf package

Looking for an off the shelf package for web based questionnaire - research tool, using php & MySql.

Currently have user base of around 6000, and need to ensure that the product can either be tied into that user base by default (to avoid duplicate responses), or can be hacked to do so relatively easily.

The output is to be analysed by spss - so if the product has been designed to produce compatible output then great

If no-one knows of a product, then I will have to design one - so some help may be required!

Will have to have easy to use interface so that "dumb" user can design questionnaires via web based interface, and have to link the db to existing table holding usernames, passwords etc.

If anyone can help or has come across this before - or can point me in the direction of a good php resource for this sourt of thing then I'd really appreciate it!

I am looking for a similar survey tool. I want it to be PHP4, MySQL and open source. I am researching some in the PHP section of hotscripts.com It is very time consuming to evaluate each package and would be quite helpful to start with some that are well liked.

I have a need for online survey creation, multiple questions and would prefer options for answer format... radio, dropdown, text.

Hope we get some good suggestions.

big bad - It is for regional economic surveys in the business community. For users opinions and answers, not for them to post questionnaires - that will be done by research team (not that familiar with web based applications hence the need for a simple interface)

DD - please let me know if you find anything - I'll do let you know if I find something good.

    Thanks

It would be a start to identify others looking for Open Source / PHP4 / MySql general tools for the following applications:

    (1) Forums - I'm using phpBB
    (2) Content Management - have my own CF looking for PHP
    (3) Survey tools
    (4) Chat - mostly for web site customer service
    (5) MailingList Manager
    (6) Calendar - combination of scheduling and Event announcements. Looking at WebCalendar, but it does not have the public event announcement side.
    (7) Other components ????

We don't have to work together or even agree on the best product, it would be helpful to pool resources to find the good contenders.

Yea - I guess you could say I'm motivated.
