OK, I need to relax a bit and do something positive so here's my list of just some of the people I respect and why.

Wayne Wayne knows everything, and has my respect for keeping this place in order. I was flattered and honoured to be accepted as an Advisor and later promoted to a Team Leader and can only hope I live up to his expectations.

Sparkie Your cartoon and graphical skills have never ceased to amaze me. You have a real talent and I know it's going to reap you lots of well deserved rewards. That coupled with you uber-nice attitude and willingness to help.

Saz While you've only been around the boards a comparatively short time, your dedication and personality have really impressed me. You do know I wanted you on my team originally don't you? It's a pleasure to work with you.

creole I'm amazed at just how well you know your job. One day I hope to know half as much about web design

goober For being super-enthusiastic, helpful and just being goober!

Karl For putting up with my constant web hosting questions, PHP questions and asking for advice.

Fletch For looking at site designs and giving me feedback around 100 times a day.

norfett For being able to rant with the best of them

That's it for now, I may add some more later because that's by no means a comprehensive list. I think everyone deserves respect and admiration for being a part of this forum and making it what it is today.

    studiococo,

Thanks. I'm sure i'll forgive you for your small typo. I just realized how easy it would be to mispell my name and create an embarassing situation.

I thank you for that. There's a nomination.

Also, studiococo, I nominate you for always helping me to use my debate skills (or lack thereof). And thanks for not quitting ahead of time when I chewed you out once.

    Happy?

Oh, and you didn't do that when you started this thread?!

Actually, I think it's quite nice to give people the chance to publicly thank those who have helped/inspired them.

I've learnt so much since I've been a member here, and I know that if I have any more questions, there will always be people here to answer them for me.

I'm also touched that I've been mentioned - more than once

Ady, I had no idea you wanted me on the Grow team at all - I wouldn't consider myself knowledgeable enough so I'm flattered that you think I am

To be honest I"d been trying to think of ways to interract with members more on a personal level... I try and welcome at least one new member a day, send birthday greetings, all that kinda thing...

I wanted to send out a thank you to the 10 or so people i mentioned but was too lazy to do the pm thing SO I figured I'd just start the thread. To be honest, I figured it would just die, I wasn't trying to start a big "let's love everyone" thread, just to say thanx

Awww, that's not true Ady, and you know it!

Whether you know what you know because you're a natural genius or because you know where to go to find the information you require is neither here nor there. The point of it all is you give tonnes of advice that's well thought out and always helpful and members respect you for that. I respect you for that.

The Community Team (namely Saz, she's so great ) does this on a regular basis. Making it more than one greating rocks.

You assist, whether officially or not, studiococo. And I speak for everyone within reason when I say thanks.

    And how 'sucky' is that?!!!

If we're not careful, this is going to turn into a "Who Can Be The Suckiest?" topic!

I admire many of the Mentors and Advisers, including:

TWTCommish: Your sites continue to get better over the years, and you never are shy in a political or religous debate.

Aidan Bahta: Someone who really knows his computers - a human encyclopedia if I ever saw one.

Nicky: Always contributing to make the community a better place and is always friendly.

Sparkie: I admire her outstanding graphics and design talents, nice all around person.

Justin S: Nice person, admire his crafty knowledge of graphics and web hosting/domain names.

WebKat: Been away lately, unfortunately, but I admire her positive attutide and friendliness towards helping new members and keeping the community flowing smoothly.

aspen: I admire his knowledge and expertise in the promotion and advertising areas.

And of course the rest of the community for making SitePoint a success!

    For me it is:
    Anyone who helps me,
Anyone who respects that I have some knowledge, albeit limited
And anyone who knows more than me!

Think that covers most people on these boards!

I admire everyone here, most importantly. This thread gives me a nice warm feeling

I'd like to thank the Academy... no

I'd like to say a thankyou to Edshuck who first welcomed me into this Sitepoint world. I came here as a young chap with a pathetic website, wanting help and he gave me a review, and some help, and he inspired me. He gave me my first taste of SitePoint hospitality. Now, I am a young chap with a reasonably impressive website, and I love it.

I'd like to thank Silverado4x4 for letting me in on some of the secrets of SSI.

Kev's tutorial in PHP inspired me to learn it which I did, and now I am confident in PHP/mySQL.

Thanks Nicky for recommending a host to me.

Thanks WebKat for the nice words about my site.

Thanks to Sean [goober] for inviting me to become a mentor, and importantly, all of the other mentors.

Also a big hi goes out to Saz. I'm amazed at the amount of dedication she has to these forums, especially since she's been a member of the Community team with me. Some of you may know that she takes the time to personally greet every new member that signs up. Impressive.

And Wayne. These forums are very impressive, and I wish them all the best in the future. SitePoint is a great place, and this is a fantastic community.

And lastly, I want to thank everyone here, for being members. Without members, our community would not be so.
