    Hiding links?

Do you hide your affiliate links with a redirect? If so, do you use a program or a custom script to do so?

If I need to track the clicks, I use a redirect. It's script based, they click on an URL, it opens a new browser, passes an ID and records the time, ip, url and what page they were on at the time of departure.

    And so yes, it's custom

    Smile

Custom solutions are always my option, but I just can't find the time to start and finish at once.

Currently I have a small script to take care of affiliates, (redirect, log) it does save everything to the database already, but I still need to implement a backend (with statistics, a decent design, etc)

So this is not just "hidding links" but is also usefull for tracking and monitoring how everything is working

One of my sites has a ton of hiding going on... the link is actually named "http://www.example.com" and places the URL in the status bar on mouseover, but points to a local tracking URL which redirects to the affiliate URL.

I use redirect, PR isn't that important to me, I just need to track stats at times.

I don't understand how these redirects work. Can you use this when linking to individual products and sale coupons?
