    Ad space inventory

    I was doing some number crunching for a business idea.

    One of the numbers I need some opinions on is how much of your ad inventory do you manage to sell?

    Say your site gets 5,000 impressions a day, so, in other words, you have 5000 top banners, so 5cpm.

    How much do you manage to optimize your banner inventory? Manage to sell 50% of your space a month? 60% of your space?

    Any numbers, or facts to back it up would be great.

    It depends. If you let one or more ad networks handle your inventory you can get close to a 100% fill rate. Of course you won't be able to command as high prices as you would if you were to sell the inventory yourself.

    But if you combine, you shouldn't have too much trouble selling all of it.
