    Problem with Firefox and margins

    http://www.eleytech.com/hudson/

    Look in IE and Firefox - there are several small differences but mainly it seems Firefox isn't adding the margin right. Any way to get the grey box to sit in the middle of the home div?

    Thanks

    No one?

    There are several issues between IE and FF like the height of the navigation area and the margins relating to the grey box. I tried messing around with them but couldn't find anything that changed it other than actually adding text in the main home div.

    You want that the grey box (homecolors div) is in the middle of the home div?

    try something like this:
    Code:
    #homecolors {
     margin-left:-125px;
     position:relative;
     left:50%;
    }
    Not sure whether it works in this situation.

    Also not sure whether you know that IE and Firefox handle the box differently. In Firefox the margin, padding and I think even the border are added to the width/height (this is the official standard), while IE those are all included in the width/height. This might be an issue there. Best thing is to use different css for those.

    c2uk - that broken box model only applies to IE6 or 5.5 in quirks mode or IE 5 AFAIK. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that by using a doctype IE should not have been in quirks mode.
