Kaplan from Adbrite gets 4 mill from VC

So I got my Los Angeles Times this morning and was greeted with an article on the dude from f'dcompany.com(use your imagination). So the article talks about Kaplan's success story and how he is being backed by Sequoia Capital for 4 million dollars for his AdBrite CPC network. I had a good laugh thought you all would enjoy it.

Good maybe they can use that money to fix my listing information, my Average cost-per-click, Total traffic, Alexa rank are never anywhere close to what they should be.

You're just giving a redirect url

Reason why we couldn't see it is because we have to register for it, which probaly noone wants to for just viewing one article.

Thanks for posting that login information. The article is pretty good.

He would often stay online until 3 a.m. or 4 a.m., with a towel stuffed under the door so his mother couldn't see the light from his monitor.
Geez, those were the days. And I could of sworn I was the only person in the world to be doing that.

Strange, I read the article on Cnet and now I can't find it at all. Searching for "Adbrite" yields no results. I wonder if they pulled it?

AdBrite is great except for the NET 90? payments. He seems to be a successful entrepreneur!

    Net60

    They changed it into NET60...

And I make from AdBrite much more than I make from any other PPC program.

Are you sure? Where did you read that?

I found this on their site...

"AdBrite issues payment in US Dollars on a net-90 basis and mails checks on the last Thursday of every month. If your net-90 revenue does not meet your minimum check amount, this revenue will roll over to the following month."

Wrong person to blame. Pud only sells advertising for Alexa. Alexa is a wholly owned division of Jeff Bezo's baby Amazon.com.

But AdBrite display the alexa rank of every site in their site listings, those are usually way off.

Search the forums and the rest of the web for info about issues with Alexa's methodology. This won't change now Pud's got some extra coin to develop and grow AdBrite.

He uses the Alexa rank info because it is the only publicly available non-proprietary data on site usage that covers millions of unique web sites. When advertising buyers are looking through the buy space marketplace Caveat Emptor applies and it is entirely their responsibility to wisely refer all site information against what marketing needs they have to determine which sites they choose to purchase advertising space on.

For a second I thought you meant FastClick was making $100k/month during their prime. Ha.
