How good is vBulletin Lite Edition? And is it possible to upgrade to the Full version without much problems?
I mean .... would it be a good idea to start with Lite edition and upgrade to Full version at a later stage?

vB Lite is really only intended to allow you to test the installation of the software. It's not intended for you to run it as an active forum.
You can certainly do so, but it's not recommended.
