    There is the famous flash satay over at ALA. I recently read about a Firefox bug and a workaround regarding the flash embedding method.

    For smaller files, you can simply use this:
    HTML Code:
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="movie.swf" width="400" height="300">
     <param name="movie" value="movie.swf" />
     <!--
      You can put XHTML fallback content here
      for us without the flash plugin, thank you. :)
     -->
    </object>

    You can, it was published under the clever name of Flash Satay to ensure nobody finds it:

    Would be great to do the same for forum posts. "Validate XHTML for" made me wonder what is wrong with the "for" attribute....

    I tried that on a huge site once, sadly enough both Safari and Opera seem to show both the movie and the other content though...

    What about video files?

    I had already read the Flash Satay...

    Oh a side note, is it really that important to validate this code? :P

    Flash is an embedded movie...

    Well, by now it is more as it can share data, but from the HTML P.O.V. it is a movie.
