Another, "Is my site banned?" Thread

    Hello SitePoint Friends,

I recently moved my site ( http://www.antiochian.org/ ) to a new server. Shortly after the move our homepage dropped from a 6 in PR to a 3. Today it is showing 0. No cache of the page or anything in Google. We were number three for our search term, now not on the board.

I don't employ any spam type techniques to get PR.

Does anyone think I may have been penalized for something? Or could this be somehow due to the move?

Thanks in Advance for any help.

    Best Regards,
    Sean

No, you aren't banned. site:yourdomain.com shows you've been indexed.

Thanks for confirming I am not banned though.

    Hello Lars-Christian,

Good point that it may be due to the www and not www versions of the url. Today I am seeing them both back at a 6, however, I still don't see a cached version of my home page.

Thanks for the reference to the www.WhatsMyPageRank.com site.

    Best Regards,
    Sean

weird stuff like that happens... one of my sites was completely dropped from google for a month. no PR, no back links, not in the index... a month later it was back to a PR of 5, 200 backlinks and back in the index.

Hmmm. I've been spamming message boards like crazy and since them my position in search results has dropped from 8 to 46.

Have you ever noticed that the Google Link: function often doesn't work?

    What are you talking about?

I hope you are not implying that I am spamming the SitePoint forums or any other forum.

If you notice my SitePoint membership goes back to 2002 and though I do not post often, I have almost 500 posts. I would hardly choose this time to suddenly Spam the forums.

My site had no PR for a few days. It was right after a server move. I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas why this happened.

    Best Regards,
    Sean

I wasn't talking about you at all. I have no idea why you think I was.

It would be nice if the two were correlated but I doubt it.
