Smile Here's what I discovered about yahoo in SEO

1-Seems to have the fastest crawler on web.
2-Doesn't pay any attention to PR.
    3-Cares about Meta tag.
4-Has no bias to certain sites (but has its ads).
    5-Alltheweb,altavista depends on yahoo results!
6-Any small websites can be listed easily in first results.
7-I bet it will index more pages than google one day!
    Anyone can agree?

I agree with you because Yahoo has more pages indexed for my site, so ya, I'd have to agree with you on that term

That's because it's patented by Google.

For the most part untrue. It does care about Meta tags but they are so devalued they may only affect the rankings of sites ranked very low in the SERPs. They won't influence the top rankings.

In fact I've recently had an opposite example (with top rankings). It may be an exception, though

I doubt it was your Meta Tags that got you that ranking. There are so many factors in ranking a page that I don't see how you can conclude your Meta Tags got you on top. Especially considering that Keyword Denisty seems to play the most predomnate role in Yahoo's algorithm.

On my most current website, MSN has been the fastest to spider my site... And I've gotten the best rankings from them as well.

MSN seems to be the eastiest to manipulate as of right now. Many members here have excellent rankings in MSN. I wonder how long the free ride will last?

I thought it's a plan to fight google and wondered if msn will join yahoo this time!
Notice: website like SourceForge.net is powered by Yahoo search (that's a good point to yahoo )

I think both Altavista and Alltheweb were bough two years ago or so. But I think most of Yahoo's technology is based on the Altavista and not Alltheweb.

Nah. Altavista stopped running their own index long before Alltheweb did. Of the three former greats (Altavista, Alltheweb, Lycos) Alltheweb was the last to cave.

Yahoo's first acquisition was inktomi and so I'm guessing most of the technology comes from there -- their spider still uses Inktomi's name (slurp).

Well I have to agree on the FAST part! I put up a site 3 weeks ago and have 10 key terms in Yahoo's top 20 and traffic rolling in from them. Of the last 50 referrers 38 are from Yahoo. Google? Havent seen hide nor hair of them except the spider once.

I doubt they will index more then Google any time soon. The technology Google has created (their massive linux server farm is mind boggling), combined with their huge headstart, has given them a huge advatange. It will take many many years before anyone can overtake them. Many many years.

But index size isn't that important. It's the quality of the first 20 results that matter.

It really changes for me from one site to another. The only thing I see is that it takes a lot longer for any site to score high on Google for the desired search terms. Not meaning to start the sandbox debate again, just stating a fact.

Yahoo does seem to be the fastest for me. I got traffic for my ringtones site one day after setting it up from a top 10 position on yahoo for my search term!

same here. i've had a number of sites that ranked no where in yahoo for 6+ months. added meta tags and they shot up to top 10 for tons of keywords.
