    Adsense fraud

I was just wondering...what if you used proxies to click on adsense ads on your own website....

    will google find out?

I'm not trying to scam google, but I am just curious...

Well, Google all kinds of tools at their disposal to see if there are exessively irregular stats coming from your account, so while you might get a way with a few clicks from proxies, you could easily find your account banned simply because you don't "fit". Also, where are you getting your list of proxies? Does google have access to this list too?

I would guess that google is well aware of many of the anonymous proxy lists out there, and I would think using known IPs would send up a red flag quite quickly.

What if someone else , who's using a proxy , clicked on my Ads? i don't think it works like that.

Well if they see more than about a click every minute even, they might get suspicious. Especially if its habitual clicking. If they see clicks from one IP constantly they'll flag you, hold your payments until an investigation occurs.

I'm sure you wouldn't get in trouble for one or two clicks by your visitors, but if you start getting a bunch of clicks everyday from the same series of IPs, your account wouldn't last long.

There are more ways to track a visitor than just the IP...
Google is very very sneaky and I wouldn't put anything by them! Don't try to scam them for a few bucks or even a hundred!

Google will look at impressions and look at clicks if they don't add up or they are fishy they will ban you. You can't have 1000 impressions with 500 clicks.

I'm not surprised. When Mp3.com paid for downloads, there was a guy who created lousy techno songs and used different proxies to download them millions of times. He made nearly 1 million dollars.
