Yeah, a lot of the corporate big-guys seem to have a marketing/realtions team that's thick in the head.

even if we leave them out,. i have an example(my college, won't take name, its big and reputed), they teach web designing and their student managment system(which students can access online) only supports IE.

and they spent millions to buy that thing and its still a no-no not only in students but also in faculty

Firefox. Really for the extensions. I really cannot get along without the web developer toolbar nor LiveHTTPHeaders.

I use IE at work primarily because I have to develop for our intranet. Everyone is on XP and IE is already installed. It's just easier to manage from an administrative standpoint.

    Hello

I voted for Firefox as most of the time that is what I use, though sometimes I use Opera, and IE only for checking layouts and sites that make me use it

I use Opera for literatelly everything, it has what I need (email, rss, browser, notes, contacts, irc chat, etc) in one program.

I use Firefox from time to time when something doesn't work nicely in Opera (such as online banking). I only use IE for testing. You also should have added Konqueror. i use it all the time if I'm booted up in Linux (not too often, but every once and awhile).

Firefox....and use IE mainly when I use Microsoft's website and they go "Your browser is..."
After 8 years of using tables,
they tell me tables weren't designed for this...BAH.
    Trade-offs exist everywhere.
Accessibility (tables) vs. 'Logical and 'Proper' (css).

Firefox mostly. IE for windows update and some badly coded sites which say Firefox is too old!
