    Using mySQL commands in DOS?

I have a mySQL book here (the title is mySQL) and it says from your shell execute the following commands:
    % mysql samp_db < insert_president.sql
    ...
    ...
    ...

I have no idea where to type this at. I think at a DOS prompt but I tryed this and it says "Bad Command or File Name". I have no idea whats wrong here. Please Help.

In c:\mysql\bin type mysqld-opt. Then type mysql. Now you can use your commands.
