Does Google think #1 rankings on other SE's are imortant?

If #1 site on MSN for a Keyword links to other relevant sites, will that hold any weight with google other than just a plain old backink?

I've been number 1 on MSN for ages now & im nowhere to be found in the first 20 pages of Google for the same keyword, so no...

I imagine any major search engine needs to be independent and unique with it's own algorithm that doesn't know anything of the other major search engines and how they work.

The SERPs pages are not crawlable by bots and so Google Bot will never know that info. check that with Mozilla and you will find that the serp pages are restricted.

no. however ranking well with quality content and being seen by more people may help you build more linkage data and later rank well in other information retrieval systems.

yup. Google powers Earthlink, AOL, feeds many meta search engines, etc.

Yea its a shame as I am #1 for many sites in my http://Nav2.net network but not found at all in google until hundreds of entries in. Shows how different each algo is. I would switch in a second from MSN to G heh

crawling and Ranking strategies formula of Msn and Google are very different , On one hand where websites like Yahoo and Msn update the backlinkes of websites on daily or continues basis on the other hand google update their datacenters once in 3-4 Months .

Having Top Ranking on Msn will never reflect your ranking on Google becuase if you check the variation of backlinkes you have on Msn and Google will be a reason behind this along with it also require that how many backlinkes you require to achicve top ranking on the same keyword on Google .

Google contribute approx 36% of the web traffic daily tht means the competition on the keywords will be larger than other search engines on any keywords in comparision ..
