i believe all the top search engines use backlinks are their main criteria as a matter of fact. Noone knows for sure what the other parts of the algorithm are, but backlinks are definately a main part of yahoo msn and google serps

MSN is highly onsite, Yahoo is probably the most balanced, and Google is mainly backlinks. That said, backlinks can't hurt for MSN, and onsite SEO can't hurt for Google. Just do everything and you're good to go.

What do you mean by dynamicsubmission, is it automatic submission?
I read somewhere that manual submission is the best of all the other types.

Yes manual submission is the best since automatic submission may cause your site being block.

From my personal observation, the anchor text of incoming links, page title and <h> tags seem to help rank better in Yahoo.

I've found putting keywords in the title tags and <h1> tags to be very useful; obviously use it realistically, spamming keywords won't help you much.
