    Why does my Pagerank show up different on the same URL

    Why does my Pagerank show up different on the same URL. Why is it that FerrariFanclub.com is pr3 and www.FerrariFanClub.com is pr2. Which one counts and why are they different?

    Thanks

    Google sees with and without the www as different pages. You should use a 301 redirect to channel the PR from one to the other.

    This question is asked so often I think it is time to add it to the SEO FAQ.

    Found this PHP solution on a different forum site:

    Code:
    header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
    header("Location: http://www.example.com/somepage.html");
    exit();

    For you PHP types, here is a complete script I just wrote for my purposes, which would work to 301 redirect all of your requests to the www or sans-www version:

    Code:
    	$strSiteDomain="example.com"; //Must be lower case
    	if(strtolower($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'])!=$strSiteDomain){
    		header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
    		header("Location: http://".$strSiteDomain.$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']);
    		exit();
    		}

    By the way, Stymiee are you sure about 301 redirects passing along their PR?

    No. I 301 redirect my www to just http:// and have never had any problems and my PR moved completely over from the www without any hassle.

    I got quite a boost for one site that had its DMOZ listing pointing to the non-www page.

    Well we'll see what happens, I'm doing 301 redirects from my www to non-www version of my site. I've been stuck at a PR6 like forever. For a brief period of time about a year ago I was at PR7. If nothing else it will stop people from link to me via the www version, which should concentrate links
