Hot Forum Traffic, Poor Results - Help!

A little help here people. The deal is this..

I have a very active forum, but due to strict advertising rules, the top tier networks won't accept it as a publisher.

Right now, I am only paypopup and advertising.com with them.

With Paypopup, it's about $20 a day which is alright I guess.

However, advertising.com is bombing.. every day Im giving them over 250,000 impressions from my forum and earning about $10 on average.

What middle-tier networks (not mamma as they are virus ridden) do you think could get me more than this? I have an account with realtechnetworks, but have never used them. I also have 24-7 realmedia, but their rates were awful.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    P.S. I don't have a fixed CPM with advertising.com.

Well good luck getting any good advertisers if you are running a warez forum.

    Thanks

The topic of the forum and nationality of main userbase would help with getting answers.

IMHO mamma is a great network with stable rates and ontime payment. I know the rates aren't high(but that's what are you looking). With 29K leaderboard impressions I made $5, so not bad and that's without pops(yes, you can email them and turn it off) + they are 2nd in my chain. Never had a virus from them yet, so I'm not sure what are you talking about.

    hope it helps

Warez is the number one reason that advertisers won't except a site.. Also I said IF his site was a warez site then good luck.

Also more knowledge of the site theme and location would help

    Thanks

Depending on who the audience of your forum is, maybe there are a few affiliate programs that could earn you a few additional dollars. But without knowing the 'target group', the people here at Sitepoint.com will be unable to help you with any ideas in this area.

    Hey all,

it's a wrestling forum, but also has other topics like sports, music, movies, etc. No, warez isn't the reason the advertisers reject it. They simply say they don't accept forums into their network without specifying a reason. I've had this for FastClick and Casale.

Also, my audience is about 70%US, rest made up of Canada, UK and Australia at a rough estimate.

I've had some awful experiences with mamma and decided to drop them. A few times when their popups would come up on screen, my virus scanner would detect a few things wrong with it.

How about budsinc, realtechnetwork, realmedia, 24-7.. who would get me the highest cpm there?

I am already using ad sense and have integrated it into the layout, adding it after all posts.

try Budsinc or Bannerconnect, I guess they will perhaps accept you, and their ecpm though not the best, but would give you handsome returns, btw, hv u tried switching off mamma's activex rotation in your banners, I guess since you are already using popups, mamma's 468 banners with pops might giv you some wonderful results

    Good luck

This isn't true at all. Top tier networks often reject forums for a variety of reasons. I would think poor moderation and resulting crude language and content would be a lot more common than a "warez" forum.

You will have a tough time getting into any of the better second tier networks. Try RightMedia, RealCastMedia, and AdTegrity aside from the ones you've already stated.

Most cpm companies don't accept forums mostly because the impressions sometimes aren't too high quality with people bouncing from post to post . Not sure of this but it sounds like a valid conclusion .
