    SearchIndex values for AWS

Im just building a new AWS store which has various different parts, many with different SearchIndex values when I'm using ItemSearch.

I have used browsenodes.com before to get lists of nodes, but it doesnt supply you with the SearchIndex for each browsenode, so how are you supposed to obtain the correct SearchIndex for a particluar node?

Other sites I've built only use one SearchIndex value so they dont have this problem.

When in doubt, use "Photo". It seems to work for *alot* of BrowseNodes.

    or

Many have created perl-based scraper spiders for gathering this information (see the book Spider Hacks from O'Reilly).

Tried using Photo, but seems that isnt a valid option for UK AWS

    Shall check out that book.

Anyone know why they need a searchindex? Surely the browsenode should tell them all they need to know?

This link will hopefully work. As you can see though, not available for UK.

I have heard two things that could help in the "SearchIndex Disaster":

    1) They are attempting to phase it out over time (do not know how true that is though).

    2) Also heard they are trying to make a SearchIndex lookup of sorts in ECS (AWS). They fell short with the BrowseNodeLookup request.

Sorry...assumed you were in the US. Yeah, it is even tougher for non-US folks with ECS (AWS) at times.
