Our vbulletin community is brand new so any new users are quite welcome. It is designed to be a place to discuss any of the questions and problems that do-it-yourself 'ers or even professional tradesmen may face.
Good start on the community. Two things I would like to mention about the layout though.
Your choice of colors is good except that the default blue buttons don't do it justice. If you look in the Graphics forum at vbulletin.com you should be able to find a teal set that will fit in just nicely. Also the darker gray background should be lightened a little. The black text is hard to read on it.
Now what you have to do is get some traffic. One suggestion would be to get some links from link minded sites. I see that it is linked to a brochure site for a company. If they have a customer newsletter, get it listed in there and send that out to all the customers.
Offline advertising might come from home improvement television shows and/or trade magazines. Of course these could take money. But you if submit letters to the editor and put the address in your signature you will probably get some recognition.
