Removing XP Logon

Hello all,
In order to use the school interent, we had to run a patch program that had a few windows updates, mcafee virus scan, and setup the login profile for win xp. Now that I am at home, I want to remove the logon screen. I have tried the following:

To remove the password from the user account:

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click User Accounts.
2. Click the user account.
3. Click "Remove my password".
4. Type the password in the "Type your current password" box, and then click Remove Password.

But I get an error saying "Windows cannot remove the password. Password and/or account polices require this account to have a password."

How can i remove this?

I think i found it. Go into run and type "control userpasswords2". Then uncheck users must enter a username to log in

Well, that might do it. Also, if you only have one user that uses the computer, you can just disable the Guest user, which is enabled by default. That way there is only one user and thus it bypassed the login screen. That's what I did.
