Getting some weird 404 errors
i've set up a 404 asp page that emails me back when a 404 error occurs with the information about the page requested. i've gotten a long series of weird errors reported and wondered if anyone knows what they mean:
The following file was not found:
i've gotten around 25 of these emails over a 3 day period. they are all basically the same with a few words changed here and there. i don't even have a scripts folder so i have no idea what that is. i'm running IIS.Last edited by lucas; Jun 22, 2001 at 07:55.

It almost looks like someone is trying to FTP in and navigate through your site. I could be reading it wrong, however...

that may be a possibility, however if that was the case the asp page wouldn't run and the error wouldn't be reported.
the first thing i thought was hacker, but its been happening consistently over 4 days. i'm thinking its something weird going on in IIS.

hmm, that's odd..It seems something is trying to reference the Windows NT directory. I would think hacker at first as well, if I was you. I am unsure. Is your ASP app referencing Windows NT for any reason? or that directory? It looks as if it can't find one of its system files to process a command. Anything you know of that would try to do this? Are you using any components? What is the web site about?
All this information would be helpful, and could help us solve your problem.
'Till next time..

whats really weird about it is the site that it is coming from no one knows about.
we had someone break into the ftp connection yesterday so that may have had something to do with it.
