Writing php errors to a log file
I use Fedora 3 with php 4.3 and I turned On log_error and logged error to the specified file
error_log = "/var/log/php_error.log".
Iis this what I need to do to make php write errors to that log file?
Cause in this case it doesn't work.
P.S. I have set the log file permissions to 777 to be sure that this isn't the problem.

To be honest I've never used PHP's builtin error logging, I prefer to use my own class to do it (you can get it at http://webcentre.colegsirgar.ac.uk/~.../error.inc.txt ) so it sends me an email instead.
I'm not sure if this is any use to you though.

It's actually cool that you can get errors right to your email rather than logging to server and checking a log file.
