Need help installing IIS, keeps crashing

On my Win2000, I have Apache, PHP and MySQL. The web server is set to localhost:8080. I'm making a site for another person, and it's gonna be hosted on NT with IIS.

So I decided to do a bit of homework and install IIS 5.0 on the Win2000 machine, installed it from Add/Remove Program, didn't ask for reboot, went to http://localhost/ and the computer just thrashed a lot then rebooted.

How do I install IIS properly? everytime I go to localhost the computer just restarts, localhost:8080 which is manage by Apache still works fine.

I'm not familiar with Apache, so I won't go there.

Are you running 2000 professional or server or advanced server?

Are your services started? Do you have Internet Services Manager as an option in your Admin. Tools menu?

Have you tried changing the port number of the IIS web site? By default it'll also be set to port 80, so there may be a conflict with Apache.

    I'm using Win2000 Pro, with IIS 5.0.

The services are starting automatically right now, and Internet Information Services says they're running as well.

Apache is set to port 8080 as mentioned.

I just dunno why the computer would restart when I try to go to IIS's sites...
