How Do You Backup Your Email? EudoraPro specifically...

Here is something I have never learned...

How do you back-up all your emails in EudoraPro or any email software for that matter? I probably have a BAZILLION emails that I would like to save on a ZIP disk and get off my machine. Someone said to backup the entire EudoraPro, but that would be a huge file. I am looking for a way to just backup the emails. I would like to put them somewhere so I can clean up my files. I do not need the attachments backed up.

Anybody know how to do that?

    Thanks,

    Doug

You should be able to get by with just backing up the .mbx and .toc files...

cokeman is right, you should have by default three *.mbx and three *.toc files (In/Out/Trash) within the Eudora program folder ('Program Files/Qualcomm/Eudora'). Backup those files along with the subdirectory 'Attach' and 'Embedded'. The address book is stored in the files 'NNdbase.txt' and 'NNdbase.toc'.

Backed up and restored my Eudora with this method several times, works fine.

Oooops... I think I found them... Sorry!
    in.toc, in.mbx, out.toc, out.mbx, trash.toc, trash.mbx

    Is that the right ones?

    Thanks again,

    Doug
