    Strange image

    Please take a look at this ad. this ad

    House image has a very strange file name. Do you think there might be some malicious code hiiden inside it? Can you check if that is the case? Thx in advance.

    That does not look suspicous, it just looks like three hashes combined.

    When handling a large number of images (for example a wordwide realestate website etc.) it is no longer an option to keep the original file name, for example: how many people do you think submitted images of their house called 'house.jpg' ?

    So most people just use an md5/sha1 hash of the file as the file name (to avoid exactly duplicate images), others use the database ID, others a hash based on time/user of upload or whatever seems appropriate at the time of development.

    these days people are sending trojans through images in emails so just beware of it.
