    This question probably would have been more appropriate in the markup forum.

    In any case, the answer is basically: nothing. .html was the standard extension until Windows-based web servers came along, what with Microsoft and their affinity for three letter extensions.

    I read somewhere that .html extension is for pages with frames while .htm for plain pages. Never mind I guess nobody follows this arbitrary convention.

    No difference...Windows just likes having files with three letter extentions.

    But if you are using Win 95 or greater you can have long filenames (with extensions)
