    shopping cart

I need to create an e-commerce site for use of the company and employees only. All the parts are in place except shopping cart. I cannot decide which route to go and the more i read the more i get confused. Should i make shopping cart:

    1. db driven or
    2. Session driven (if the browser is inactive for 20 minutes, session will be lost) or
    3. client cookie

what are pros and cons of each one of these?

    Thank you

Session driven is the best approach. If you are afraid that session will expire. You can better increase the session time out time.

If you have time, go the db route

If you have time, go the db route. Down the line if the site ever grows you won't be sorry. session - based shopping carts won't be as scaleable.
