HELP! meta.xml extraction to MySQL
Hey,
I'm currently stuck in a situation that involves extraction of this meta-information (author, date, filename etc.) from Open Office documents.
Will be running a LAMP setup and using mod_dav for file management on the server. I would like to save this meta-information (from meta.xml) into MySQL when the document is saved onto the server. This meta-information would be used for indexing for a web-based "Search" so files can be located easier.
I have been looking for solutions (code/guides) all over the net for doing this but have not yet found one yet. I have only just arrived to the Linux/Opensource scene, so forgive my lack of knowledge.
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers
Phil

Hi strikebo,
Got your PM and returned one to you. Send me your email address and we can correspond that way.
The article looked very good, didn't really have a lot of time to read through it all
but there were some links at the bottom of the article.
http://xml.openoffice.org
http://ez.no
http://zev.ez.no/svn/extensions/
http://phpdocwriter.sourceforge.net/
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees..._abbrev=office
Have not taken a look at any of these links though.
I would take a at those as well as a few classes that parse XML documents. That should make it easier for you to index/search the documents on your file system.
As I said send me an email and contact you with more information.
Kind Regards,
