    dead link script ahhh help!

    Hey everyone!
Omg, I'm going to pull my hair out! For the past like two weeks I have been looking everywhere for a script that I just can't find!!
I'm looking for a dead link script. Specifically one that when the user finds the dead link there's an option for him to "report dead link". Well, i've seen it on about a million sites and e-mailed all the webmasters but none of them want to tell me where they got the script from!
    Can anyone help???!!

    Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hi, check this out. It's called BIRDTRAP from www.bignosebird.com and not only does it catch all broken links but it automatically emails the webmaster/admin when one is found straight away, so the person that finds the broken link doesn't have to do anything.

This is better because not all visitors will report the broken link.

It's a very good script also. If you have any issues installing the script you can post the error (if any) your getting in the PERL and the DBI forum.

    I hope this helped

Quick question...BirdTrap only logs errors when they occur locally within my webiste? You see, I have a list of links (a BIG list) that lead to other sites on the net and I wanted a script for those links. BirdTrap won't work for that, will it?

    I would suggest doing what I do in ResourceBin.net (http://www.resourcebin.net )

I put a "Report Dead Links" button on the bottom of every link. This could then just email you. And if you're worried about getting 500 emails daily with invalid dead links, you could require that they supply information about themselves.
