    mod_rewrite and Error 500

I've created a .htaccess file with

    "RewriteEngine On
    # Skip www.xxx.com
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^(www\.)
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([^.]+)\.domain\.com
    RewriteRule /home/httpd/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/xxx.php?user=%1"

in order to redirect my pages. It get 500 error. Do anyone know the reason?

    Thanks in advance.

Without knowing more about the purpose of the rewrite rules I can't give a straight out solution but I think the problem is coming from your RewriteRule.

RewriteRule takes two arguments. The first one (the one you are missing) is the pattern to match the second one is the string to rewrite with.

Other than that I can't really say much that is useful. Do you have access to your server's error log file? That would have a more specific error string in it.
