    Just starting a PC site.

    Hi

I am going to be starting my own PC website. I want it to have hardware reviews, and game reviews etc. I would like some help on which designers to hire, what content management system to use and just genral advice.

    I have already bought a domain: vgland.net.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Picking designers is a tough task.

    - Demand previous clients' email addresses so you can email them asking for testimonials.

    - Ask to see what sites the designer has designed before, to see if he has done work that is relevant to what you need.

    - Make sure the designer uses standards-compliant mark-up (XHTML, CSS, no tables for layout)

    - Don't look for the cheapest designer ain the world. Pick one if you think he can do what you require. You get what you pay for in the end.

As for content management systems, you could give mambo or shot, or if you're not looking for anything overly advanced, wordpress, movabletype or textpattern may work for you.
