Beat me up Scotty: My turn in the ring

Ok, here is my site. It is actually for those specialty needs for the Nissan Skyline, so it isn't for everyone. But would like to get some feedback on the technical stuff and how it looks, but not the content.

If you don't know what is it. It is the fastest production car made in Japan. Mine is came stock at 215 HP! Anyway...

But I hope you give me some good tips.

    Down to further notice....

Good stuff, my only comments are nit picky (I like the interface). To add to the interface, I'd honestly suggest either flash graphix or graphix for the links. Becuase the interface is so strong and bold it makes normal text links seem "weak".

Also I'd look @ using arial as the font, but that's just personal preference and readability.

Also, the indentation of your paragraphs looks a touch weird to me.

As I said, nit-picky. good stuff

    - Like the last review, I think the frames detract from the design. You can look at my arguments in the other review if you want.

    - The graphics are overly pixelated. You should try switching from gif to jpeg.

    - The table in 02 Sensor Dialog and some of the other pages should have a larger width, like 95% or so.

    - I think the iface links would look better justified to the left, and probably bold or graphics, because I agree with studiococo that they look weak next to the large graphics.

    - The yellow on some of the text doesn't fit with the color scheme. If you're going to use yellow, integrate it with the interface, otherwise use gray or a grayish-orange for the yellow text so that it keeps with your color scheme.

    - Same thing for the red text.

    - An a:hover would be simple to add. I suggest either white or a lighter orange.

    - The nissan skyline poll has a lot of blue that should be changed to fit your color scheme.

    - In your paragraphs, you are entering return after each line, which causes a <br> to be inserted. Don't do that; just let the browser wrap it according to the width of the table.

    - ALT text is good.

    - I think that the top skyline graphic should link to the front page. You might want to use an imagemap or cut it into tables so that only the "Skyline GTS-t 2001" links to the front page, and not the entire image.

Very cool design, though your frames are off a bit.
( The navigation image is not aligned correctly.)

I would agree to put a rollover effect on those links just to highlight them.

Maybe make that font just a bit smaller to scale the navigation image
down a slight so it will all fit on the page. It's such a great design,
having part of it cut off takes away from the punch.

    Well done! Very cool.

Something else though. I wonder if you indented and justify aligned
your text columns it might make the page that much more classier.

    Thanks for the comment.

Sasha: What screen resolution are you using?

The nav image was done with two frames and had a feeling I was gonna have trouble with it. I will be using layers next to see if it turns out better.

Oops, I should have included this.
    I have my window set at 800 x 600. I think that's what a screen resolution is?
    I was viewing through netscape.

I was told that 800 x 600 is what most people use, so design by that.
If I am wrong on this most popular screen size, please let me know, so I
    can change my own settings.

    Thanks.

800x600 is the best res to aim for in my opinion.

I think that although the interface is very slick, it tends to dominate the content a little and is slightly unnecessary as the navigation sits in the left column.

I am wondering what the copyright implications are of putting the manauls online though?

Looks awesome. I love the interface. Contrary to coco's suggestion, I don't think you NEED something other than text link, although you could if you wanted.. I don't think text links like you have take away from the interface.

My biggest beef with the site is some pages appear that the frames got out of control. I use a 1200x1024 display with IE 5.5. Like has been suggested, shooting for 800x600 is best. Try using a table to limit your width. That's a technique I use regularly. Quick tip would be the table width + the width of the lleft frame should equal 770 pixels (to take into account a scroll bar).

    HTH.
