OK I've given up on ImageMagick and decided to figure out how to do this with the gd library. I have to upload the file ($filename from the form), convert it to jpg format, then create a copy of the original image that is 100x100 (but maintain aspect ratio). Right now I have this for code:
Code:
function LoadJpeg ($imgname) {
    $im = @ImageCreateFromJPEG ($imgname); /* Attempt to open */
    if (!$im) { /* See if it failed */
        $im = ImageCreate (150, 30); /* Create a blank image */
        $bgc = ImageColorAllocate ($im, 255, 255, 255);
        $tc  = ImageColorAllocate ($im, 0, 0, 0);
        ImageFilledRectangle ($im, 0, 0, 150, 30, $bgc);
        /* Output an errmsg */
        ImageString ($im, 1, 5, 5, "Error loading $imgname", $tc);
    }
    return $im;
}

function ResizeJpeg ($imagefile, $store) {
	$src_img = imagecreatefromjpeg($imagefile);
	$new_w = 100;
	$new_h = 100;
	$dst_img = imagecreate($new_w,$new_h);
	imagecopyresized($dst_img,$src_img,0,0,0,0,$new_w,$new_h,imagesx($src_img),imagesy($src_img));
	imagejpeg($dst_img, "$store/$imagefile");

	return 0;
}
Then in the main part of the program:
Code:
	$image = LoadJpeg ($filename);
	copy($image, $photonm);
	$okres = ResizeJpeg ($photonm, $thumbnm);
Can someone who knows what their doing please suggest any changes or modifications to make this work? TIA
