    script to detect ImageMagick?

    Hello--

    I am working on a very limited server right now... no cgi-bin, no GD support, no shell access... I need to know if ImageMagick is installed. I emailed the host several hours ago but haven't gotten a reply, which is standard for this host. If there is a way that I can find out if IM is present on my own, it will surely be faster. I did a search using Google for "script to detect ImageMagick" and came up with an older SitePoint forums link. In that post, the person said he's used ImageMagick's detection script, one I assume he got from the ImageMagick website. But, I can't find anything like this. I did find that Gallery has a script called check_imagemagick.php, but it references all sorts of Gallery files.

    Does anyone know of a PHP script I can run that will detect if ImageMagick is installed or not?

    thanks!

    A simple phpinfo() script should tell you if ImageMagick is installed.

    The Gallery script really does nothing more than:
    PHP Code:
    exec('convert -version'$results$status);
    if(!
    $status) {
      echo
    'installed';
    } else {
      echo
    'not installed';

    Thanks for the quick reply Tom!!

    I was kind of hoping that phpinfo() wouldn't show me if ImageMagick is installed or not, because it doesn't list ImageMagick.

    I need either ImageMagick or GD support (for an Open-Realty installation), neither or which are available on this server, although NetPMB binaries are available. I don't know if that will be enough or not...
