You can see Big Ben /Houses of Parlament out of every window in London. Likewise for Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

And if you are cool, of course you hold your gun *sideways* when you shoot.

Also, in the movies everyone reloads really smooth. They don't need five minutes to reload.

Sometimes it's not enough to hold the gun sideways, you have to say something cool too. And generally, you will have shot someone in the past leaving you with psychological scars and an inability to shoot properly, which can only be erased by shooting someone who deserves it. Or, in an interesting twist, you are someone's nerdy sidekick who runs away at the slightest noise, and you ultimately gain the acceptance of your manly pal by smashing someone over the head with a chair, with an expression of surprise, exhilaration and new-found butchness on your face. To top it all off, your hero pal says "hey, you're alright! You can be my partner/wingman/official biographer any time." You then high-five, but being a nerd you miss his hand and smile ruefully, but with the knowledge that you can disable people when push comes to shove.
All Hollywood scriptwriters know these scenarios inside out, having witnessed them so often in real life.

And with a gun in both hands - held sideways of course. And the 'Willis' special a sub machine gun in one hand and a hand gun (that can fire almost as fast) in the other

If you are a bad guy, and you have perfectly planned out your robbery, high jacking, or other criminal activity, you will forget one important detail that seems insignificant at first. but, there will always be one cop that will figure out this one detail and use it, even thought no one else would ever even have thought about it. oh, and more than likely it will be the cop that is always getting suspended, or getting in trouble with his superiors.

-oh and if you are a good guy trying to stop a bad guy, you will ultimately have to face your biggest fear before you get to the bad guy. If you are afraid of flying, you will have to fly somewhere. If you are afraid of rats, you will have to crawl through some rat infested sewers.

-oh, and god forbid you be either a rookie cop, or a cop close to retirement.. just stay in bed....

The screen refresh rate on Apples was (still is I suppose) compatable with the shutter speeds on the cameras so no flicker on the big screen.

I have seen interviews with Spielberg and Gibson (did anyone mention Braveheart on its histoical accuracy ) and they've have always claimed their first job is to make an entertaining movie; to tell a story. This often leads to twisting facts or leaving them out all together. I've been hearing similar comments about Pearl Harbor.

I enjoying watching documentries on the History channel and appreciate their historical accuracy and debate (all history is subject to some debate), however, when I want entertainment and to be emotionally stirred, I'll continue to watch historically inaccurate movies like Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, and The Patriot.

People, one thing to keep in mind is that a fair portion of our history could be inaccurate in and of itself. To quote from Braveheart, "History is written by the Victor" (paraphrase).

Just because it is written in the history books does not make it fact.

In fact, I have heard that many historians are starting to discount certain portions of texts based on inaccuracies they are only now finding.

    These are only guesses:

    The first reason would be:
Apple are the computer company most willing to put their money into movies - since that is the way the company is headed. So they go in for a lot of sponsorship and product placement deals.

Film prouction companies are more likely to seek sponsorship from Apple because films are most likely to be edited on Apple, I guess.

Also - because it's easier to do product placement for Apple, because there is not one single 'brand' of PC.

I don't think so. Computer screen displays on film are composited so the actual monitor display is never shot. It is optically or digitally placed in the frame later.

Also, Apple macs use regular multisync monitors today. If they did want to actually shoot them on film, they'd have to set them at a multiple of 48 Hz (ie 96) vertical sync, which would be just as easy to achieve on a PC.

Ah Braveheart - another movie that makes the British look like scum! (Mel seems to have it in for us!)
The Scot's were actually vicious Barbarians - but I have nothing against them coz I am 1/4 Scottish!

Okay, i know it's off topic now but why are you blambing the americans?

Universal pictures is owned by a French company: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hol.../universal.jsp

    Sony owns Columbia.

So U-571 was made by a French company, and Columbia (Sony) made The Patriot.

    So there.
