Anyone using google_hints in AdSense code?

I got chosen as a beta tester, so I've been using it for a few months. I recently came up with the idea of dynamically adding keywords in the google_hints parameter. When my users register on my site, I ask them which form of natural healing they like best. Then, whenever they login to my site, they will get Google ads that are targeted to their interests.

Has anyone else ever done this?

You have to contact them before you use it, don't you?

I don't know anyone who was chosen, but I do recall Aspen saying he contacted them and is now using it.

They contacted me. Unfortunately, the hints don't work as well as I thought. If you have lots of content on a page, then google takes that into consideration too. I'm trying to get ads to display that are a slightly different topic than my content. For example, my site talks about aromatheapy, and I'm trying to get other natural medicine type ads. How do I contact Aspen?

    Thanks.

His username here at SP is "Aspen", and he owns websitepublisher.net as I recall.

They contacted me, and I use them. However I don't do anything dynamic since the site I use them on is pretty much needs to target the same thing on every page.

Your proposal sounds like it could work though.

Also, when I first started using them, they seemed to work better than they do now.

I'm using them too, and I agree with Chris--Google seemed to take them into consideration some months ago, but not now. My sites in particular really need them, since some of the content would appear (at least to a spider) not to have anything to do with my site's real function.

Did you ask to use them or did google ask you or neither?

Google contacted me, gave me the code, and told me how to use it.
