    Executing a Perl Script from within PHP

    Hi:

    I have a file that uses SSI to execute a perl script using the following simple command:

    <!--#exec cgi="cgi-bin/counter.pl"-->

    The result is a graphical hit counter. Is there a way to accomplish the same thing (using the same perl script) from a PHP document? It doesn't appear as though the PHP "exec" command is the right one. I know there are plenty of ways to do hit counters using PHP, but in this particular case I need to use this specific perl script. Thanks!
