    yeah the prompt is right ... that just shows you what folder youre in

    what do you mean it wouldnt work .... it wont tell you anything if thats what you mean

    once the file is renamed all you have to do is do a

    dir *.org

    and see if it shows up

    then follow the rest

    I just ran the ren thing again and got the message "A duplicate file name exists or the file cannot be found".

    I'm guessing I run dir *.org after the system32>?

    cause we have to shut down explorer.exe and work below the OS, if windows senses what going on it may freak

    But no dialogue box came up! I did the dir *.org and the file is there.

    So now I enter?

    ren netshell.dll.mod netshell.dll

    dir netshell*

    and MAKE sure the file is there .. then you can reboot

    Sounds like netshell.dll is still there if she got a duplicate when she renamed the .mod version - no?

    Yup, got three there .dll, .dll.org and .dll.mod

    Thats what I was afraid of .... do this. delete the netshell.dll

    type this

    del netshell.dll

    then do this

    dir netshell*

    and make sure its gone

    then following the instructions to rename the modded one to the netshell.dll

    DC, can you reshack one for Earther and email it to her?? Then she can delete all of them except whats in the C:\Windows\System32 folder and go through the process again?
