    System Resources

I had a problem a while back with too little system resources. I took some of the things out of my explorer bar along with deleting un-needed programs and items and that helped for a few months but I've started expierencing the same problems again.

I have a few more programs on my computer now but it's nowhere near full. There isn't anything I can do to make it stop freezing when I leave it on by itself for longer than 20 minutes. (The reason I am saying this is system resources causing this is because thats what I was told by a tech when I had this problem once before)

Anything you know to make this stop without deleting programs?

    Hey Heth...

Have you run a scandisk or defrag lately? Those two things should be your first task.

Get those out of the way then see how your puter is acting. If it's still acting up come on back.

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL once and copy down programs that you have running (Windows 98). There are probably lots of them that you can safely eliminate without loosing functionality. You can run msconfig and remove startup programs to help with this. Programs like MS FindFast serve little or no purpose to 95% of the people who have it installed.

128.0 MB As far as RAM goes and all, I have no idea how good or bad that is. I just got my computer back in Dec. but I've had a lot of problems with it.

128 megs of RAM should be fine for most people, even for you doing design it should be decent enough to prevent the problems that you are having. If this persists, then your best bet might be to reformat.

it looks like defragging it helped. My system resources are still below what they should be but it's not freezing up or causing a lot of errors. time will tell. =)
